MICHAEL WEBSTER COMMMITS TO ST. OLAF COLLEGE

UTICA, NY - Jr. Comets player Michael Webster has committed to play college hockey at St. Olaf College.

"My time in Utica was great. From the facilities, to my coaches and teammates, I was fortunate enough to have such a great junior hockey experience. I’m pumped to be attending St. Olaf this fall. It’s not only an amazing hockey program, but also a terrific school. At this time I’m still undecided on my major. Coach Effinger at St. Olaf recruited me for my offensive ability that can be added from the back end. I’m confident that my game will be able to transition to the collegiate level."
Head Coach Louis Educate had high praise for the young prospect.
"Michael had a great season for us this year. He had a tough year the year before dealing with an injury and this year came in hungry ready to prove something. Right out of camp he had already taken that next step and you could tell he was going to have a successful season.

St Olaf is getting a player with a very high ceiling. It’s rare to find a defenseman at his length with the skating and play making ability that he has. The best part for St. Olaf and Weby is that he still has a ton of upside and room to improve in his game but at the same time already has a lot of the tools you need to have success at the next level.

Weby is an easy going guy with high expectations. I imagine he will fit in very well back home in the State of Minnesota playing for St Olaf."

Webster has much to be thankful for in Utica, and a lot to look forward to in

"I’d like to thank Coach Lou for recruiting me and bringing me to Utica. I’d also like to thank my mom and dad especially, without their support, my goal of playing college hockey wouldn’t have come true."
