Captain Kevin Sadovski Commits to DI Merrimack College

Utica Jr. Comets NCDC Captain, Kevin Sadovski, commited to Merrimack College and their D1 Men’s Hockey program. Coming off a fantastic season, Sadovski (Palm Coast, FL) tallied 10 goals and 30 assists.

“As our captain, he set a great example both on and off the ice of how to do things the right way. We are very happy for Kevin on his Division I commitment to Merrimack. We look forward to seeing him do great things in the future,” commented Jr. Comets’ Head Coach Paul Kelly.

Kevin described heading to Merrimack in Andover, Mass. as a “dream come true”. He outlined how the USPHL and his time in Utica prepared him well for this next step in his education and hockey career.

“I’ve played in the USPHL for five seasons and I have seen my game develop a lot throughout my time. I had a great experience in Utica and the coaches really pushed me every day to be better. If you want to make it to the next level and develop your game, Utica is the perfect place for that. We had two hours on the ice every day and (the coaches) pushed us hard to compete. The facility is top notch and with the brand-new Nexus Center coming. Players will have everything they need to make themselves better”.

Sadovski went on to describe how much he enjoyed being a captain for this group. “We had a younger group, so it was cool to try to teach the younger guys.”

The Jr Comets will be hosting a July Camp prior to the USPHL Summer Showcase in July. Details are available at www.uticajrcomets.org.
