Born and raised in Rome, NY, Tim Sestito is the older of the two Sestito brothers who both played for the Syracuse Stars. Sestito played for the Edmonton Oilers from 2007-2009 before playing for the New Jersey Devils until 2015.
After ten years of playing professional hockey in the States, Sestito moved to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) to play with the Dinamo Riga for the 2015-16 season, where he was named the assistant captain during his first year with the team.
