Mission

Mission Statement 

The Utica Jr. Comets Hockey Club is a non profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Our home ice is the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium and the Utica University Nexus Center.  Everyone associated with the hockey club believes that hockey is much more than just a sport. Hockey has the ability to enhance the lives of children, shape their future and the future of our community. Our mission is to dedicate ourselves to making hockey available to any youth who desires to play, regardless of their financial background, experience, or skill level. We endeavor to do so in an environment that is free of politics and bias, where all decisions that are made are done so in the best interest of our players.

• Any decision that is made that impacts the program shall be in the best interest of ALL the players. 
• We shall strive to develop each and every player both on and off the ice. From the recreational player to the most dedicated and highly skilled athlete, all should have access to high quality training, and reap the benefits of playing on a team that is appropriate to their level of skill and commitment. 
• All players at all levels are equally important to our program. We shall strive for experienced, well trained coaches appropriate to the level of play.  
• We will strive to create an environment of respectfulness. At all times, we will exhibit respect for ourselves, for others and for the sport itself. 
• Our success will be determined by our product. Our aim is not only to develop hockey players, but to foster lifelong friendships, healthy lifestyles, and well rounded citizens.
