Utica, NY. —The Utica Comets are proud to announce that Junior Comets defenseman, Billy Moloney, was called-up to the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League.

Moloney, 6-foot-3, 194-pounds, hails from Plainfield, New Jersey and entered his second season with the Utica Jr. Comets NCDC team. Playing 29 games this season, Moloney registered one goal and one assists for two points with 62 penalties in minutes. The 19-year-old Moloney becomes the first Utica Junior Comet this season to be called-up to the USHL which is the premier tier-I hockey league in the United States.

Utica Junior Comets NCDC Head Coach Louie Educate is thrilled for Moloney to receive an incredible opportunity.

"Billy has been a solid Defenceman for us for almost two years now. He is a player who has always wanted to take his game to the highest level possible. His belief in himself is immense and is a big reason why he has been given this opportunity. It has been very fun to watch Billy's growth over the past year and a half with us. He has always brought an intensity to the game and now with a new added poise he has brought his game to the next level. It will be great to watch Billy suit up for Omaha. Myself and our staff couldn't be happier with this call up and we wish Billy the very best"
