JR. COMETS ANNOUNCE KEVIN VALENTI AS 2009 AAA HEAD COACH
The Utica Jr. Comets are excited to announce the addition of Kevin Valenti as the head coach of the 2009 AAA team, adding another non-parent head coach to the organization. Valenti, a former Division 3 forward for the Utica College Pioneers is eager to begin his coaching career with the Jr. Comets.
A graduate of Utica College in 2018, Valenti was the assistant captain for the Pioneers his senior year. That same year he helped lead his team to a championship in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) by tallying 27 points in 27 games. Before college, Valenti played 2 years of junior hockey with the Kemptville 73’s in the CCHL and the Northern Cyclones of the EHL where he served as captain. Prior to his junior career, Valenti attended the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, NY. A native of Queensbury, NY, Valenti grew up playing youth hockey for Adirondack and AAA hockey in Albany.
“I am very excited to get started working with these young players,” said Valenti. “The opportunity to give back to a game that taught me so much on and off the ice is something I am very grateful for. I look forward to helping develop these young players.”
The organization is committed to placing talented coaches with our young teams to guide the players as they begin their hockey careers and become ambassadors for our region and sport.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Kevin to the organization and look forward to having him develop our athletes,” said Jr. Comets president Tony Martino. “The Jr. Comets are happy to be adding a great hockey mind and former college player to our coaching staff.”
